whilst in Canada on holiday last month I discovered we were staying just one block ( 5 minutes walk from a lovely independent scrapbook store with lovely owners who held weekly classes, I joined 2 of them. This class was to make a tag album using BoBunny's brand new Autumn Song 12 x 12 paper range, love the rich colours, they are fab!
Pre-cut chipboard album used, drew round many papers in the Autumn song range for each page cover and distressed the edges with Ranger Walnut Stain distress ink. The title 'dream', was cut out twice for each letter, once on chipboard and once on the Autumn song paper using Sizzix Bigz dies and adhered using Zip Dry scrapbook glue. Netting rosette was attached to the back of Sizzix dies flowers whose edges had been distressed and curled, using extra strong DST, then attached tot he cover with a metallic brad, will add the other pages as I finish them, I have covered all the pages of the album, they just need the embellishments added. The album wasn't finished in the class as the day I was on the class our friend who were staying with had his dog die so we had to take him to say goodybye to her, thankfully the lady running the course, emailed me the finished pages from her book so I can complete the album back home, jetlag has prevented me from scrapping since our return from holiday on 1st October but I shall get on with it very soon.

Been a bit of a month!! and first attempts using promarkers
As many of my friends already know on Wednesday 29th August I had a mild TIA (mini stroke) won't bore you with details, but got wonderful hubby and great support from family, friends and neighbours, excellent paramedics, fab new GP and superb pain consultant and slowly taking it a day at a time, I will recover. Still waiting for ressults of CT scan ths week from my ENT consultant. For now Carrie is living with her dad and other grandma as I'm not well enough to have her home yet.
Been left quite weak but hubby Andy and my mum gave me craft stash funds, so I bought tons of craft mags with fab cover gifts and also subscribed to Quick cards, purely because the subscription gift was 20 promarkers, which I've wanted for ages but couldn't afford til now. the other night, when unable to sleep, coloured my very first topper with promarkers and today made it into a quick card for a dear friend Sylvia on Do Crafts.
Blogger won't let me upload the card, but this donated PB hedgie image was my 1st attempt at promarker colouring a topper, enjoyed it and it relaxed me, tho know I've a LONG way to go and so much to learn and more promarkers to add to my collection of around 30 so far!
I also received some die-cut embossed images from another DC friend and coloured 2 of them in this afternoon, making one into Andy's anniversary card, sorry don't know brand of stamps.(poor quality of images is down to scanner, and marks are on scanner, not toppers. Andy accidentally left our camera in our car and took it to work today, thats my excuse).
top image hasn't been made into a card yet, bottom image 'together forever' has been made into my anniversary card to Andy for our 28th wedding anniversary on 22nd September, when our daughter has booked a restaurant for 9 of us to go out and celebrate his 52nd birthday and its a double celebration as we got married on his 24th birthday! I've coloured the topper as close to our hair colours and the clothes in our fave colours too.
Promarker colours used:
Satin
Dusky Pink
Blush
Coral
Cinnamon
Cocoa
Pastel blue
Duck Egg
Amethyst
Aubergine
Poppy.
As Andy doesn't like anything too fancy I just added distress inks and put the topper on a pre-printed card
Tim Holtz distress inks used:
Shabby shutters
Tattered Rose
Happy anniversary and birthday Andy for this Saturday, you are my rock and so good to me, love you more each day and hope we have many more happy healthy years together, no matter what life throws at us!!

page 1 of my altered art mini album
The theme of this mini album is Love, and instead of of using photos I am focusing on important dates which mark special times in my life and embellishing the pages with die-cuts, flwers etc. the first date is August 14th 1982, the day I met Andy (my husband of 26 1/2 years).

First attempt at altered art - a mini album cover
I have just uploaded the altered front cover of the mini album kit that June (CraftyJ from DC scrapbooking forum, her amazing altered giant pegs are also in the DC gallery today) kindly sent me, for a long time I couldn't get started. I tend to craft in neat rows but so want to be more free in my crafting but just not confident how to start, but today I felt inspired and just went for it. I really enjoyed making it.
I tinted one of the embossed hearts and one sentiment with Ranger milled lavender distress ink, and also used it to distress the edges of the album.
I used Wackytac adhesive sheets to adhere everything together as I cannot find my silicone glue and also it was the neatest way to attach the mesh to the cover, do hope you like my first attempt at altered art, I am looking forward to decorating the rest of the pages, thanks for any comments, it is such a gorgeous kit, to work with, have a lovely day, happy crafting, Fi x

1st Scrapbook layout of 2011 - 'FIZZY COFFEE'
Last October, Carrie and I slept over with my sister and neice, she then took us for brunch to an amazing restaurant on the Saturday morning. Carrie asked for 'fizzy coffee', I deduced she meant cappuccino, but that had too much caffeine so she and her cousin Ellie had hot chocolates topped with marshmallows and whipped cream. the photo is of them both, Ellie in the fore and Carrie behind. i started this LO last year but mislaid the photo, only finding it again yesterday when sorting out my stash. Now that all my stash is sorted, on view and accessible, I'm using stash especially my stamps and inks which has sat hidden from view for far too long, so I'm making up for it now!
for this LO I've used:
Basic Grey 12" x 12" cardstock
donated Kanban cardtock made into tag, edged with tattered rose distress ink
& overstamped with fired brick distress ink, using a PM floral sprig stamp
donated doily die-cut.
mini envelope from my stash stamped with fired brick distress ink
Glittered chipboard letters from Poundland
Glittered foam flowers from Poundland
swirl and gingham ribbon from kit hubby bought me for Christmas
hope you like it, thanks for any comments, Fi x
